Hey There,
The “Select Files” button doesn’t seem to fire anything for us when using IE8 in XP with EE 2.2.1 with Channel Files 3.6. Any ideas? I see two Errors on the page…

Webpage error details

Message: Object doesn’t support this property or method

Not sure if these have anything to do with the issue. Does this work in IE8?

Thanks!

Hello,

It should work. Make sure you downloaded the most current version and you are not hiding the field by default in the publish screen and let me know.

Yeah, version 3.6 was up-to-date. IE 8 mysteriously started working. I’m still getting this error in the control panel and on my safecracker form where ever channel files is used.

Do you see this error in IE 8 on XP? I get no errors anywhere else and the awesome MS script debugger crashes when I attempt to use it on the page.

It was not hidden by default. Just noticed something new though, in Firefox on XP I can’t use the “Select Files” button. Works fine on FF for Mac, in Chrome and Safari. It even just gives me the arrow cursor instead of changing to the pointer like it is a link. Any ideas on that one?

Hello,

Can you make sure flash is up to date?

Hey, yes. Just installed fresh and I’m still getting the error and nothing in FF.

Could you try something for me? Disable template variables. And try using Channel Files then..
Let me know how it went

Okay, the one error is still present…

Hmmm, I can’t think of anything else that could conflict. I have a bunch of other plug-ins installed but this appears in channel entries that do not have any other fields except for Channel Files. Plus it extends out to to the Safecracker form.

Make sure you replace the themes and clear your cache… It should be fixed.

What version of EE are you using. Make sure you update as there was a known issue with some versions of EE with IE 8

Hi - I just had exactly the same IE8 error reported to me by a client (same line number etc). I’m running 4.0.3 on EE 2.3.0

Hi guys,

Could you try Channel Files 4.0.4?
I just uploaded it to Devotee/Devdemon.com

Please clear your cache afterwards.
Also it’s advised to have the latest EE installed. Since in some cases the JS errors that EE can produce can cause Channel Files not to work correctly.
